Bob Griese on Tacos

Jokes we can't do, because they offend
Feelings will be hurt, and then they must mend.
Laugh at ourselves is an art that is lost
So we are all unhappy, oh what a cost.

Mountaineers marry their cousins, boy we get mad
It only a joke folks, no reason to be sad.
Our country is famed for freedom of speech
Please just laugh, no need to screech.

WOW

Wow, the Nobel Peace Prize
He must be extremely wise.
Worthy he is, the Norwegiens say
Thus nominated after just 12 day.

He is something when given a mike,
Have you heard him, hard not to like.
He brings change and he brings hope
Lets face it, he's better than the last dope.

Oh, I see, George Bush is is not
Was the award not won, but maybe bought.
Most money ever raised in a campaign
Egotistical America goodbye, Europeons drank Champagne.

Its obvious now, US will disarm
Dollar is dropping, dont be alarmed.
The one world power, no longer will be
That is worthy of the award, you see.

*** NOTE ***
This is just fun, any resemblence of my real feelings is just a coincidence. I have decided that this blog will consist of only posts in lyrical form, AKA, 3rd grade poetry. Content is often driven by the days events and by words that rhyme.

Blogging

I really struggle in deciding what to blog about. I really do censure myself because I am afraid that my opinion may come back to haunt me. I think its easy to say throw caution to the wind. But everybody get offended now a days, so someway it will haunt you.

For example, I could bent about the political climate. But my views would be characterized as out of touch with reality at minimum and who knows, racist at most.

I could talk about my day yesterday, but whatever I would say about it would possibly get back to either party, which would be negative in one way or another.

I could complain about work, but who would read that and have it get back to the college.

If I ever truely wanted a to have a sincere blog, it would be with an alias. How sincere is that?

There are too many places to make comments

I am having fun with this class, but i am struggling with all of the discussions and blogs. If I understand this correctly, I should at minimum begin at least one discussion a week based on the weekly readings and two thoughtful replies. Ok, I can manage.

Then I have to blog weekly and this also has to be related to the readings. I only have so many views in me. I am a rather shallow man. As noted by the discussion thread, I am struggling with the concept of "virtual classrooms". So although I should probably write about something else, I am stuck on semantics. Why dont we call the four wall classroom a traditional learning platform. I like that much better than a classroom. Anyway, I am sorry to hear about Prof Pam's loss. I hope everything is as well as it can be.

See you all on here next week. LOL

my first blog

This is my first blog, well not really. I do have a blog for work. It is on our website at www.wvncc.edu. The purpose of that blog is to communicate with our students, staff, and faculty. As soon as I figure out how, I will invite everyone in our class to be a follower of this blog. I have enjoyed reading a few of your blogs already, but I dont belive that I have become a follower. I will work on that also.
